This is a general view of the 407th aircrew barracks. We all used bikes to get around the base when we were on our own time.

The rectangular area to the right is the static water tank. It was a feature in each barracks area. It was made of concrete and was about three or four feet deep. Because there were no fire hydrants, they were kept full of water to use in case of fire. All flight crew members in the 407th were dunked in it when they finished their tours.
