stories and photos of the 92nd Bomb Group in WW2

SPECIAL NOTE OF INTEREST:

It is with a heavy heart that I report that Robert D. Elliott 92nd Bomb Group Historian / Archivist passed away on January 3rd, 2012. Bob was 99 years, 2 months of age at the time of his death. Bob was one of the original members of the Eighth USAAF when it was being formed in England , serving with General Ira Eaker in his Headquarters staff. Bob was subsequently the official photographer for the 92nd BG. After the war Bob was instrumental in forming and operating the 92nd Bomb Group Memorial Association. Though I never had the honor of meeting Bob face to face, I have had the pleasure of corresponding with him on numerous occasions along with countless telephone conversations when doing research for family members that had requested information on relatives that had served with the 92nd BG.

RIP Bob, and thank you for your unending service to the preservation of the memories of all those that flew with "Fames Favored Few"
